quick [update].

yesterday i had a little bit of a freak out, i was a little nervous about all that i needed to do, but luckily i have just been taking it a few steps at a time and today a good amount of the list was finished, which is really encouraging!

do child growth and development final observation
complete assessment assignment
dominate math exam
take special ed. exam
get through assessment exam
write english final

dana and i haven't really kept up with our movie list, hopefully we will finish it by thursday, but probably not... we might have to let that be a next semester goal.

friday is quickly approaching, which means that it is time to pack up the room, but anyone who knows me knows that i come with a lot a lot of stuff... most of which i don't even use- it somehow just lives in my room and then i pack it up, leave it packed, and then unpack it for the next school year... why do i do this? i do not know. i should probably just lighten my load and throw it away, but that just seems too permanent for me.

something exciting is that tomorrow i am going to sell back my books and possibly order my clemson ring! a clemson ring is just beautiful, i am so thrilled.

here is the ring (without the proper year) but i just think it is so beautiful, hopefully an order will be made... and the money for the ring will most likely be coming from the cash that i get from selling back some books (don't judge- this is the life of a college student).

can't wait for summer time, only one exam and a project left to complete! life is so good.

hopefully that will make you smile a bit, if not- the fact that that my roommate and i had a song war (of which i decided to go totally 80's) last night instead of doing homework, will hopefully make you smile.

just a thought.

the [calm] before the storm.

countdown until this semester is over: 3 days. that is nuts! once thursday comes i am home free and finished with this semester... while i am just thrilled to be home, i am a little shocked that it is already finished! this summer is just going to be great, can't wait to spend a lot of time at the beach and also shagging on the pier! i must admit that i am a huge shag fan- if you've never been to shagging on the pier, you need to go! it is a really good time, or you can take the trip out to folly beach. both venues will provide a wonderful experience!

on another note, my roommate and i have a movie list that we want to watch during this exam week (since everyone knows that exam week has nothing to do with exams. here is the list:

australia
casablanca
cold mountain
tristan and isolde

i know it isn't an incredibly long list... but they need to be accomplished before thursday, so far- we only have cold mountain under our belt- hopefully that will happen!

something that everyone should also invest some time in watching is food network's cake challenge. the show is wonderful and comes on without fail every weekday at 7... it is almost always on in our room (i.e. i just finished watching it and am such a fan).

exam week is going to be pretty crazy for me, rundown of things to do:
write english final
do child growth and development final observation
complete assessment assignment
dominate math exam (ha.)
take special ed. exam
get through assessment exam
... notice that none of those have a strike through, that is unfortunate.

hopefully everything will end well and summer can start off without a hitch!

"be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10

let that passage be the cry of my heart this week.

[give away]

holy cow. love a good giveaway! the whole idea of giving away things via blogging is just thrilling, i must say that i do enter somethings here and there- i just can't help myself. at any rate- this new blog that i started reading called aspire is doing a favorite family foto sharing, so i thought that i'd join in... i just love pictures, so it isn't really hard to pick! you should check out her blog, it is pretty fun!

here is a favorite recent family picture- i love my mama!

pictures are my favorite- i have an entire photo wall in my room just filled with pictures of people i love, and people who are basically like my family.

i really have some beautiful people in my life- so incredibly blessed!

my [favorite] things

although i really want to, i am going to refrain from posting all of the lyrics to that song... though everyone should go and listen to "favorite things" from sound of music before reading the rest of this post... you won't be disappointed, it really is that enjoyable!

at any rate, this week has been a little crazy- but the weekend was just wonderful! i packed up a bunch of my junk and then sent it down to charleston to await my arrival- which means less junk cluttering my life in clemson (hurray!). however, during the weekend is when [some of] the favorite things took place!

favorite thing one: i went to farm boys bbq... this is not just any ol' bbq place- it is the kind that is only open thurs-sat (that means you know it is good) and it is just delicious. thanks to sean, i now love this place and columbia has a redeeming quality (alright- the bbq is actually in chapin, but you just have to help columbia out whenever possible).

favorite thing two: for lunch on saturday we went to california dreaming. i realize that this post is mostly about food and the previous post is about food, but just get over it- i just happen to write about food. it was scrumptious. the croissants are delicious and the california dreaming salad is a must... so if you want to treat me to something delicious- let's go there. we can split the salad and it won't be too expensive!

favorite thing three: i got to eat atlanta bread company for supper and get a chicken pesto panini... just trust me- it is the best.

favorite thing four: [not food related] it was lovely weather in columbia and it was even nice enough to go out and sit in fenley park and enjoy the swings and the fountains that were on! another bonus of the day was that a couple was there taking prom pictures, oh how i do not envy them- so glad to be finished with that stage of life!

and now- just to spice it up... some not so favorite things:

white tennis shoes. there is no reason to have a white tennis shoe (or dare say a PAIR of them)... i am sorry if you own a pair, have ever owned a pair, or wish that you could have a pair. my advice: throw them as far away as possible, change your mind, and then look to the world of color to put on your shoe. i don't know what it is about me, but i just can't stand them- i'm sorry, but that is just the way it is.

but that is enough rambling about that- exciting news is that summer time is just around the corner... i can smell the sweet salty air already! this time next week i will be all finished with my classes and packed up to head to home sweet home! a little bittersweet, but still exciting overall. however, come may 31st i am a student again... but only online classes- so no classrooms for me! i hope that your thursday is just wonderful, mine has been!

[good] eats.

oh man. i am aware that it has been a really long time since i have posted anything, i swear my life hasn't been super exciting, just pretty busy.

in approximately 2 weeks i will be back in mount pleasant (home sweet home) and i must say- i am pretty excited about it. love clemson so much, but love home (and the beach) a bit more. sorry clemson friends, don't love you less, just love home more! clemson friends plus home would be the ultimate combination, hopefully that will happen once or twice over the summer- that would just be top notch.

healthy(ish) food has now taken over the fridge. there are tons of glad-ware containers of all sorts of yummy fruits and veggies- hopefully that habit will last. a very important item is also in the fridge- wait for it- hummus. man oh man. hummus is such an enjoyable snack. and it isn't just any hummus- it is sabra, classic hummus- so worth the $5 to buy it. i am currently enjoying this snack plus some delicious wheat thins as i write this post. if you've never had this hummus go to the store right now and buy it, right now- close your laptop and hit the road, your taste buds will thank me later. i realize that it probably isn't that hard to made hummus, crush up some chick peas, add garlic, etc., etc. but i don't know if it will have the same appeal. i think not.

also- something so fun that happened last weekend is that my roommate for next year, carrie- got engaged. so thrilling. love that so much. love a good wedding. weddings might be my favorite thing ever... if not- they are pretty close. if i could one day own a children's bookstore/wedding planning business/speech-language pathology/ children/high school ministry head quarters business all tied into one, i would. i know that's a whole lot of titles, but that's ok- because i would be the head of it, so thus i get to decide what is included... it can also sound ridiculous because it isn't going to happen [or at least not in the foreseeable future]. in the meantime i think i'll just stick to being a student and helping my roomie plan her wedding- it sounds a little more reasonable.

once this school week is over there will be much rejoicing, just cannot wait for the weekend. one reason that the weekend will be lovely is that it will mean that i lived to see this week come to an end, so that is nice... it also means that i am either heading to cola to meet up with sean or that sean is heading up to clemson... we are hoping that it means that i am heading down to cola, still praying about that. in the meantime i think that i will just continue snacking on my hummus, wheat thins, and grapes [the new alternative to cookies... it seemed like a good idea in the grocery store].

just a thought.

by [His] wounds

He was pierced for our transgressions
And crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice

And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved

He was pierced for our transgressions

He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
And by His wounds, by His wounds

What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus

"by His wounds" by mac powell

i just love this song, it is one of my favorites in the whole entire world. this song has been on my heart this entire Easter weekend and i have been meditating on the lyrics and isaiah 53, particularly isaiah 53:5. i love these lyrics and i love singing this song.

it was such a glorious Easter weekend and i have so much more to post but no time to do it! so this song is all for now, but it is incredible, so take it all in.
