miscellany monday- engagement edition.

but i must admit that my post isn't so random today!

[1] on friday sean came to my house with sunflowers (my favorite flower) and then we went to cypress gardens for a mystery date.

[2] we went for a walk and ended up at a pretty white gazebo. 

[3] we went inside to have lunch, before lunch sean gave me a photo album with over 100 pictures of us throughout the time we have been dating.

[4] he then started talking to me about what it means to love and serve one another in marriage and how he wants to love and serve me like Christ loves the church. 

[5] he said that one of the biggest ways that Jesus served his disciples was by washing their feet... so, he got up from his chair, got down on his knees and began washing my feet (thank goodness i had a pedicure the week before!).

[6] i started putting my shoes back on and then looked back at sean and he was holding a box with a ring inside of it and asked me to be his wife!

[7] i freaked out... and said yes (of course).

[8] and now we are planning a wedding for may 2011!

 we are so excited and thrilled to begin this season together and are so ready to be married!

it has been a while since i've blogged about a giveaway, but there is one at the undomestic mama that makes me want to put on a twirly skirt and dance in the kitchen. i think that it is pretty obvious that i love a good kitchen accessory and right now there is a giveaway to win one of your own... i love aprons, i have two hanging in the kitchen right now, but these aprons are just so precious, that i just need to have one of my own!

top two tuesday.

top two things you'd like to accomplish before the end of the year.

[one] lately i have been feeling really convicted for the way that i spend my time and the importance of being healthy and fit. so, i would like to get into the habit of making exercise part of my daily routine when i am scheduling out time. i realize that when that aspect of my life is in order so many other things fall into place as well.

[two] i would also like to improve on my cooking skills. it isn't like i am so bad off that i need directions for boiling water, but, there is always room for improvement. this picture is also of cooking healthy food... which i feel like also needs to be part of this list. while it may be more appealing to cook delicious desserts, i need get into the habit of also incorporating more veggies into my recipes!

miscellany monday.

you know the drill... it is monday, time for randomness!

[one] i cannot believe that i have posted approximately 4 posts since being back at school... i pinky promise that i am going to try and do better!

[two] my friend is featured in the newest charleston weddings magazine for the winter... i was pretty excited to get it... see picture below (sorry that it is mirrored... that's just how photobooth works).  

do i get bonus points for looking all kinds of crazy and wearing my glasses?

[three] while painting my toe nails i have discovered that i have many variations of the same color... does this make me boring?

[four] macbook pro... i have mentioned a few times that i am using a new macbook, i must admit... while i am certainly not a pro... i really like using it! so fun!

[five] this weekend i made my way home to go to a wedding with sean- one of his old roommates got married- so fun, as you know, i love a good wedding!

[six] i got a car! i haven't had my own car since fall of my senior year of high school- so it is pretty exciting! not that i didn't get by without a car the first half of college, but it is pretty wonderful to be able to have my own mode of transportation!

[seven] the whole business of long distance relationships is kind of crazy, but one thing that has really helped in our relationship is skype! though not the exact same as being in the same room with one another, it does make for some fun times... case in point: this moment in time.

things to note about this picture: i am blurry because i am trying to convince sean to dance with me (i am in my apartment, sean is in the student center- not a big deal). my "glee" playlist is in the background on itunes... i am also typing the words of the song to sean so that he feels more confident in his dancing skills... i don't think that it worked.

[eight] there is a new nicholas sparks book coming out on tuesday... it is called safe haven you can bet your bottom dollar that i have my copy ordered from amazon and, since i am an amazon prime member, it will be arriving on. my. doorstep. on tuesday. i plan to have it read by thursday! cannot wait. go right now and order it.

top two tuesday- fall favorites.

top 2 favorite things about fall

1. the color orange. being that i go to a school that is basically centered around the color orange, i really do honestly love the color, but i also really love seeing the color in the fall. it is just so cozy and inviting. it is also the color of pumpkins... which is for sure one of my favorite things about fall.

2. fall clothing. i love the feeling of light layers, feeling cozy, and snuggled up without feeling the need to wear a ski jacket just to enjoy being outside. i actually just purchased a golden yellow zip-up that will be simply perfect for layering this fall- i am beyond excited to wear it some place other than around the house. i am also a huge fan of scarves and cardigan sweaters (though those can be worn year round, if you ask me!).

that time again.

clemson football is officially starting this weekend- clemson games are so much fun, i am absoltely in love! i will be missing a few games this season for a wedding and some other stuff, but i am so excited about the season! there's nothing like a clemson football game.
