top two things you'd like to accomplish before the end of the year.

[one] lately i have been feeling really convicted for the way that i spend my time and the importance of being healthy and fit. so, i would like to get into the habit of making exercise part of my daily routine when i am scheduling out time. i realize that when that aspect of my life is in order so many other things fall into place as well.

[two] i would also like to improve on my cooking skills. it isn't like i am so bad off that i need directions for boiling water, but, there is always room for improvement. this picture is also of cooking healthy food... which i feel like also needs to be part of this list. while it may be more appealing to cook delicious desserts, i need get into the habit of also incorporating more veggies into my recipes!

top two tuesday- fall favorites.

top 2 favorite things about fall

1. the color orange. being that i go to a school that is basically centered around the color orange, i really do honestly love the color, but i also really love seeing the color in the fall. it is just so cozy and inviting. it is also the color of pumpkins... which is for sure one of my favorite things about fall.

2. fall clothing. i love the feeling of light layers, feeling cozy, and snuggled up without feeling the need to wear a ski jacket just to enjoy being outside. i actually just purchased a golden yellow zip-up that will be simply perfect for layering this fall- i am beyond excited to wear it some place other than around the house. i am also a huge fan of scarves and cardigan sweaters (though those can be worn year round, if you ask me!).

top 2 favorite cities

1. charleston, south carolina. i love charleston so much and am so proud to be from there, i love going downtown and being able to walk around and just enjoy it. though, since i am technically from mount pleasant, maybe i can consider charleston as a favorite place to visit!

2. anchorage, alaska. i've actually never been to alaska, but i would love, love, love to go there... i realize that i don't actually like cold weather, but i think that i could get over it for views like this.

top 2 simple pleasures

{one} curling up with a good book. i absolutely love being able to curl up and read a book. it is simply wonderful... i also have the added benefit of getting to curl up with a snuggie, not to mention a clemson snuggie! [don't judge- so not fashionable, but so comfy!] but don't worry- i do not wear it in public... that is just too much. plus, because i apparently feel no shame, i will allow you to laugh at my expense by looking at the photos below!

notice the nicholas sparks book? yep... i've read all of them- and i read most of them last semester (because reading actual textbooks is way. over. rated.)

{two} taking walks. i thoroughly enjoy a good walk every now and then- along the beach, along the street, through a field- the place isn't so much of the focus as the person you are with. i enjoy being able to walk along with someone and just enjoy each-other's company. i also enjoy a good walk when i need to think- perfect thinking time.

top 2 things you want to purchase

seeing as i don't really like to spend money on things... i know, it is weird, but true... i don't really know what i would want to buy, however, since it is my birthday golden birthday [turning 20 on the 20th], i will go with my top 2 "wants" [i.e. things i would love to receive for my birthday] right now are...

[one] an iHome. i know that everyone and their mama has one right now, but i don't- and i still think that it would be useful to have one... they come in black and silver... which would you prefer?

[two] subaru outback [in moss green, preferably...]. i would love to get one of these for my birthday... [ha ha] there is no way... but, in case you haven't noticed, green is my favorite color... and i love this shade of it and i love this car, thus- it is the perfect fit [i wish]... but hey, since it is my birthday, i will go ahead and dream big... so lovely. this one happens to be for sale in the charleston area... maybe i'll just head right over and give myself a present... [sigh]

top two favorite summer recipes

[one] lemonade with berry ice cubes

as previously discussed on my blog, i love lemonade... however- my favorite is lemonade with any sort of "berry addition"... so this is perfect! i'm sure you can imagine how to make this tasty treat, however- you can find the recipe here.

this looks de-li-cious... yum. i eat chicken probably everyday... i love it and all of the different ways that it can be prepared- i think that this looks scrumptious! this recipe can be found here.

top 2 favorite purchases made this year

{1} slide on chacos. these shoes have been my favorite purchase of the summer- by far. they are so comfortable and look "less mountain woman" than my other pair [according to my mother].

{2}insulated tote bag. this bag was such a great purchase- it is perfect for taking drinks and snacks to the pool without having to take a huge cooler- plus there are pockets and zippers inside for sunscreen and cellphone without getting wet! i'd take this to the pool any day over a cooler...[it is smaller than it looks!]
